Corey lost his job 10 months ago and he has been applying and seeking out full-time work since then. It’s been difficult to find work with hours that are flexible enough for him to take Nate to the bus stop in the mornings & then pick him up by 4:00 when he gets off the bus. When Nate is out of school, such as Christmas break, he is not able to work, because he does not have the appropriate care for Nate. It’s an endless cycle that he is caught up in.
Corey is a single father raising a 12 year old son who was diagnosed with autism with speech impairment when he was just a toddler.
Corey has been doing life alone with Nate, raising his son to the best of his abilities & being the sole provider for him since he was born, and it’s been an ongoing struggle for him since day one.
As a single father of a special needs son, Corey has to devote much of his time to just helping Nate with all his basic needs. The developmental stages that most parents see & only have to deal with are just a stage that soon will pass, but this is not the case with Nate.
This will be a lifelong challenge for Corey to provide the specific needs/treatments/
